All good things come to an end

Summer 2010 is over for Kamron and I. It is very depressing. We had a wonderful summer it was very memorable. We did so many things on our "Summer to do List". The top #1 thing I wanted to do this summer was to go to Lagoon. I don't know why, but I think that it reminds me of summer as a child. Anyways, we went to a few weeks ago with our friends Ali & Traci. It was so much fun. We were there from practically open to close. Kamron really wanted to do all the games that had to do with sports. Like the basketball shoot and throwing the baseball as hard as you can. He won some great prizes like a blow a baseball bat, a baseball helmet, and a Boston Celtics flag. Also I'm an idiot and accidentally deleted the 2 pictures of Kamron and I on the sky ride thing. So the other pics I have of the day is of the boys getting ready to shoot and Traci and I waiting for them.
The other day was my Grandma's birthday. We had a big party for her at a park, practically the whole family was there. My favorite little cousins were here visiting from Japan, and my Aunt and Uncle were here from Virginia. My FAVORITE uncle Clair shares the same birthday with my Grandma so we also sang to him.

On Saturday the 21st Kamron and I hiked to the very top of Mount Olympus. This was also on our list. We planned on getting to the base of the Mountain at 7 am, but Kamron's alarm didn't go off so we decided to take our time and we got to the base about 9. We had NO idea what we were getting ourselves into. I was thinking it would be comparable to Doughnut Falls and we'd be home by noon or 1 at the latest. Kamron said that the website said the hike took 6 hours. But I honestly thought was like worst case scenario. No not the case. I say this with all honesty in the entire world, not being dramatic at all. This hike was the hardest physical thing I have ever done. My hips have never hurt so bad, and also my calves killed. The incline of this mountain was so steep it made it even worse. Well after FOUR hours we made it to the top. It was the best feeling in the world. The view is so amazing. I was so happy I didn't stop and turn around like I wanted to most of the time. After resting at the top of the mountain for a while I could not wait to get down the mountain and go home. Everyone thinks that going down the mountain is easier, no it's so not easier. My toes hurt so bad from being smashed into my shoes and my thighs hurt from trying to slow my self down. I fell down problem 6 times, which made me so frustrated. Then Kamron got us a little bit off the trail. We ran out of water and were in the blaring 97 degree direct sunlight. I couldn't take it anyone.... I just started bawling. I was so done being on the mountain. There were seriously times I thought I was not going to be able to take another step. I wanted to die (not literally). I didn't not think the end was ever going to come. We saw some search and rescue guys hiking up the mountain, they said a 55 year old man was stuck and ran out of water. Then like 2 minutes later life flight came cruising over. All I thought was that man was so lucky!!! Well of course I made it down alive, but I was so dehydrated. We stopped at the gas station, bought a gallon of water, and drank the whole thing together. I know that sound like a whole lot of complaining, but to be honest I learned so much on the hike. I am so happy I did it and finished it.

After resting from our hike we went to Cafe Rio and to the Bees game with the wonderful Falk's. They brought their cute niece Addie. She was a doll. There were fireworks that night. It was seriously the best ending to a wonderful summer.
Happy back to school. Student teaching update will come soon.
